Pointers #2

I’ve been running a lot of reviews recently, and I thought I’d take a break and point you towards some webcomics I’ve been reading recently:

Snarlbear by Natalie Riess is a webcomic about a girl called Snarlbear who has been transported to the strange and oddly dangerous Rainbow Dimension. I think has recently hit its stride with a conflict between an usurper unicorn queen and an elf; the comic has always been a little dark, but the last few pages have been downright creepy, to great effect.

Full Circle Illustrated by Christianne Coudreau, Written by Taneka Stotts, and Colored by Genue Revuelta is a really beautifully illustrated and colored all-ages comic about a tropical island where all its inhabitants minus one have wings. The story’s main characters are Elsa and the wingless Marti, who is a magic user, and while we’re at the very beginning of the comic, I think this is one to keep your eyes on.

Godslave by Meaghan Carter is a comic about Edith, a college? dropout who ends up freeing the ancient Egyptian god Anubis and is granted powers to fight the servant of what appears to be Ra. It’s funny and the first chapter flies by really quickly.

The Weight by Melissa Mendes theweightcomic is a family saga set in the 1930s based on the memoir of her grandfather Jack’s time growing up in rural New York and his life up to his 60s. Edie, the main character, is a tough and tumble girl who is dealing with an abusive home life and her drunk father.

What webcomics are you reading right now that you really like?
